The First Nativity: A New Pageant
Let’s bring back the real spirit of Christmas starting in our Catholic churches and Catholic schools. Too often the Christmas story gets lost in little kids running around in animal costumes and inaccurate narratives. I offer you a fresh take on the pageant: a look back on the first nativity scene where St. Francis shows us that the true spirit of Christmas lies in the humility of God become flesh, the infant Jesus. This play serves not only as a way to educate people on the nativity’s origins but also to keep our focus on the Word Incarnate, Jesus Christ. In addition, adults and children and teens can all participate in this play. Feel free to use at your church or school. In exchange, I ask you to send me responses you got. Enjoy!
